Transportation Safety - Vision Zero

2023 Sun Prairie Juneteenth Celebration (9)

View the adopted plan by clicking here

Sun Prairie has a goal of eliminating all fatalities and severe injuries that occur as the result of crashes on city streets by 2035. Until recently, our street and land use designs prioritized moving vehicles efficiently and without delay. Vision Zero represents a shift to making safety the top priority in all actions and decisions for planning and designing both transportation and land use in the City.

This Action Plan outlines strategies and actions that should be taken within the next ten years. It is a dynamic, living document that will need to adapt to our growing community. The recommendations it contains are meant to be a starting point, not a final list. The plan will be updated based on new data and research on the effectiveness of different strategies to eliminate traffic fatalities and injuries.
