The Sun Prairie Historical Library & Museum holds archival records, manuscripts, maps, rare books, photographs, and other materials that document the history of Sun Prairie. Due to the unique and often fragile condition of Museum collections, these materials are non-circulating and their permanent storage areas are closed to researchers. While the use of certain materials may be restricted, most of the Museum's archival materials are accessible for research purposes in accordance with Museum procedures.
Researchers are asked to submit a Research Request Form so that Museum staff can respond to your inquiry and/or help identify materials that are relevant for your research project.
Physical access to research materials is provided at the Museum by appointment only. At your scheduled visit, you will be required to complete and sign a Research Rules and Registration Form.
Research materials date from the 1840s into the 2000s. This Summary of Research Collections provides information about some, but not all, of the Museum's available research materials. Please consult with Museum staff for additional information.
