Getting Started
If you are interested in proposing a project, please contact Kristin Grissom, Director of Parks, Recreation and Forestry via e-mail.
What to Expect:
- SPPRF staff will work with you on identifying a project. See below for a list of project ideas.
- Once a project has been identified, we will ask for a written proposal for the project that outlines the scope of the project, any upfront or ongoing costs associated with the project, location of the project, and other pertinent details. Don't worry - SPPRF staff will help you with developing the proposal!
- After a final written proposal is submitted, we will schedule you/your group to present your proposal to the Sun Prairie Parks, Recreation & Forestry Commission. Staff will also walk you through this process. The goal of presenting your project to the Commission is to receive a final approval on the project. Meetings take place on the 2nd Wednesday of each month at 4:30 pm in City Hall Chambers. It is recommended to come with a presentation and be prepared to answer question about your project proposal.
- Upon final approval from the Commission, you will be authorized to begin work on your project! Staff will work with you on coordinating any permitting, logistics, or other needs for the project.
- Once your project is completed, send us photos so we can share them out and properly recognize you!
