Since the Transportation Summit on August 31, work has been steady for the City of Sun Prairie’s Ad-Hoc Transportation Committee. Chaired by City Council President Al Guyant, the group has created five workgroups to help create solutions to several issues with in the City. The categories are as follow:
- Ride Sharing (Taxi, Car Pool, Community Car, Para Transit)
- Bus System/ City Trolley
- Madison Metro Expansion/ Rapid Transit/ Park N’ Ride
- Bike – Pedestrian
- Citizen Survey and Public Communication
These workgroups bring their ideas forward to the Ad-Hoc Committee that meets monthly for full discussion.
The Citizen Survey and Public Communication Committee has as part of their work created a webpage to help keep people informed about what is happening with the different workgroups. Please subscribe to ‘Transportation’ Stay Notified, then down to News Flash section of the City of Sun Prairie website to get direct messages about transportation related information. The workgroup is also working on developing a survey to better set priorities for the Committee as a whole based on citizen feedback. A draft of the survey will go the Committee in January 2017 for review.
