[ARCHIVED] Commemorative Brick Fundraiser

water tower smaller.png

The sale of commemorative bricks was a great idea when the Water Tower Board developed the idea in the early 1990’s. The initial sales of over 600 bricks brought in nearly half of the required funds to pay for the restoration of the historical Water Tower. When the Board closed down in 1998 the Sun Prairie Historical Society picked up the process and as of today we have a total of 725 named bricks in the Jim Reininger Plaza at the base of the Tower.

On May 1st of each year we continue to sell these bricks until the endo first year. Then an order for the engraved bricks is sent to the Royale House Inc., of Racine. About mid-August, the finished bricks arrive for placement in the plaza.

The funds collected are forwarded to the City to use for the ongoing maintenance and restoration of the Historic Water Tower. The Tower continues to need repairs of all types, including painting and tuck pointing. Please consider the gift of a commemorative brick, not only to preserve your family heritage, but also to help with the continuing restoration project.
