SPPRF has ordered a second ice rink liner system for the upcoming ice skating season and is looking for your input on where to put the second one!
As you may know, with warming temperatures, the old method of flooding the rink directly on the ground has not proved successful over the last several years, so SPPRF is in the process of acquiring a few more liner systems over the next several years. Last year was the first year with the liner system, and the ice quality was not only excellent, but the skating season was extended by several weeks.
One rink liner system will remain at Wetmore Park, with flooding directly to the ground for the second hockey rink. The Sun Prairie Parks, Recreation and Forestry Commission is re-evaluating the Oakridge and Renstone rinks and looking for input on where to put the second liner system as well as future liner systems.
The survey will remain open until Wednesday, August 4, 2021.
