[ARCHIVED] Historical Library and Museum Winter Hours

The Historical Library and Museum will be closed from Dec. 22, 2019 - March 4, 2020.

So as to continue to provide some access to the museum for local residents and visitors during our winter season of behind the scenes work, the Sun Prairie Historical Library and Museum will offer tours by appointment starting January 6, 2020. Visitors are asked to please schedule these tours two business days ahead of time. Please email us at or call 608-825-0837.

Appointments for research should be submitted two business days in advance to allow staff time to locate materials. Please email us at to arrange for a research appointment.

We will have special open hours on February 1st for Black History Month and Groundhog Day from 10am-2pm.

The Museum will reopen on March 4, 2020 with regular business hours: Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays from 12-4pm and Saturdays from 10am-2pm.

Volunteers will still be needed for all the behind the scenes projects to prepare the museum to open for the Spring season and we welcome new volunteers to join us this winter. Please email to sign up to volunteer.
