May is Building Safety Month! Stop by City Hall's Community Room on Saturday, May 18 from 9 AM to 3 PM for the Building Safety Expo & Open House, hosted by the City of Sun Prairie Building Inspection Division. The event is focused on building safety and maintenance, and is aimed at helping residents who may have questions or need information about their own homes.
There will be staff available from the following agencies to provide information and answer questions:

- EMS Department
- Fire Department
- Hellenbrand
- Jim Murray INC
- Police Department
- Public Health Madison & Dane County
- Public Works Department
- Renew Wisconsin
- Sunshine Place
- Underwriters Laboratories
- Wastewater Treatment Plant
If you have questions about sump pumps, water quality, renewable energy solutions, home repairs and maintenance, etc. we should have someone on hand to talk to. Public Health Madison & Dane County will have its fire sprinkler trailer on hand, as well as a ‘smokehouse’, to provide demonstrations on fire safety.
The event is free and open to the public, and will be held in conjunction with the Farmer’s Market, which will be operating out of the City Hall parking lot that morning from 7 AM - 12 PM.
