If you are unable to use Metro’s accessible fixed route bus service due to a disability, you may be eligible for paratransit service. Paratransit service is a shared-ride service throughout not only Sun Prairie, but the Madison area for people with disabilities who are unable to make it to or from a bus stop on their own. Shared Ride Taxi Information

The shared ride taxi provides door-to-door transportation service within a 3-mile radius of Sun Prairie, east of the interstate.

To request a ride, call 608-837-5550. Be prepared to provide your name, location, phone number, and information about any needed accessibility accommodations.

Fares

For regular one-way trips within the City:

• Senior/Disabled: $4
• Regular Adult: $4
• Youth under 6: Free (up to 3)
• Youth 6 to 17: $4

Other Fees:

• 12:00am to 3:00am: $5
• Wait Time Fee: $0.50 per minute
• Outside city limits: $2.25/mile
• East Towne Mall:* $5 each way

Each passenger in the vehicle must pay the above fare rate. 

*Call at least 60 minutes before requested pick-up. Shuttles will arrive on the half hour at East Towne and on the hour in Sun Prairie.

Service Area

The shared-ride taxi service provides coverage east of the interstate to areas within 3 miles of the Sun Prairie city limits. Approximate Boundaries are shown.

Paying for Your Ride

Riders can pay fares with cash or pre-paid ticket at the time of the ride. Booklets consisting of five tickets are available for purchase at the City Hall and the Library. Cash, check, or credit cards are accepted at these locations. Credit cards, debit cards, and checks are not accepted on the taxi.
