[ARCHIVED] Second Round of Yard Waste Starts Week of 5/27

Yard waste placed at the curb for collection

Our second round of yard waste collection will take place the week of Memorial Day. Due to the holiday, collections will start on Tuesday, May 28. Collections are generally completed within one week, but may be delayed depending on weather, equipment/crew availability, and amount of materials out to be collected throughout the city.

Yard waste is categorized as leafy vegetation that composts in a short period of time such as leaves, grass, garden waste, shrub trimmings and other compostable materials. Please have materials curbside by 7 a.m. For more information, please visit our Yard Waste Information page.

Yard waste may also be taken to the Recycle Center at 1798 S Bird St with a recycle permit.

  • Materials placed at the curb for collection must be placed into open trash bags or containers (no lids).
  • If you would like your bags back after collection, leave an empty container out for crews to put the bags back in.
  • Please do not mix brush or garbage with the materials.

Please note, a previous posting categorizing yard waste as including twigs thinner than a pencil. Our contractor will not collect yard waste with twigs. We apologize for the confusion.
