In 2018, a sewer rate study was completed to determine if increases in rates were needed to fund the operation and maintenance of the treatment plant and sanitary sewer collection system. The study also reviewed capital and operational costs related to upcoming treatment plant upgrades scheduled to be completed in 2022. The City Council approved an 8.07% increase that will go into effect on January 1, 2019. The new rate will increase the average residential customer bill by $1.81 per month. Learn more here.
While the volume charge remains the same for all customers, the minimum monthly charges vary depending upon the water meter size. For Industrial customers generating a high strength wastewater, a special charge is calculated and added to their sewer bill. The minimum monthly charges based on meter size and volume charge are as follows:
Meter Size |
2018 Minimum Rate |
2019 Minimum Rate |
---|---|---|
5/8 Inch |
$9.23 | $10.12 |
1 Inch |
$13.44 | $14.45 |
