Upcoming Plan Commission Items

In an effort to allow residents to become more informed about proposed development projects and other zoning matters, application materials are typically available a few weeks prior to scheduled Plan Commission meetings. Regular meetings are held on the 2nd Tuesday of each month at 7 p.m. in the Council Chambers at the Sun Prairie Municipal Building at 300 East Main Street.

Special meetings are called on occasion when deemed necessary. Agendas and meeting materials are typically issued about a week in advance of the meetings. Please find links to upcoming meeting agendas and active development applications below.

The City Plan Commission is a 9-member body consisting of the Mayor, 2 alderpersons, 1 member of the Park & Recreation Commission, 1 member of the Sun Prairie area school district board, and 4 citizens.  The Plan Commission serves as an advisory body to the City Council, making recommendations regarding zoning amendments, planned developments, conditional use permits, subdivision plats, and most certified survey maps.  The Plan Commission is also responsible for the preparation and recommendation of the city's comprehensive plan.

Public Hearing:  CITY OF SUN PRAIRIE:  regarding the Proposed Project Plan, boundaries and creation of Tax Incremental District No. 13 encompassing approximately 94.5 acres located on property between USH 151 and Reiner Road, south of Capitol Drive.
  
Public Meeting:  BARLIE FAMILY 4, LLC:  requesting approval of an Annexation of approximately 36.6 acres of land located west of Reiner Road and south of Capitol Drive, from the Town of Burke into the City of Sun Prairie.
 
Public Meeting:  INTERSTATE PARTNERS, LLC:  requesting approval of a Certified Survey Map that would divide property located on the west side of Reiner Road and south of Capitol Drive into three lots and one outlot.
 
Public Hearing:  SUN PRAIRIE AREA SCHOOL DISTRICT:  requesting approval of an Amendment of the Official Zoning Map to rezone properties located at 525, 533 and 541 S. Bird Street from Mixed Residential (MR-8) to Suburban Industrial (SI).

Public Meeting:  SUN PRAIRIE AREA SCHOOL DISTRICT: requesting approval of a Certified Survey Map to combine four parcels into one lot on properties located at 501, 525, 533 and 541 S. Bird Street.

Public Hearing:  MICHAEL HANNA:  requesting approval of an Amendment of the Official Zoning Map to rezone property located at 515 Marshview Drive from Heavy Industrial (HI) to Urban Industrial (UI).

Public Hearing:  MICHAEL HANNA:  requesting approval of a Conditional Use Permit to allow a personal storage facility land use (mini warehouses) on property located at 515 Marshview Drive.

Public Hearing:  CITY OF SUN PRAIRIE:  requesting approval of an Amendment of the Official Zoning Ordinance to revise Section 17.16.140 to allow the Keeping of Chickens as an Accessory Use in some residential zoning districts.
